These are single reed Arkansas style duck call hand crafted from start to finish by call maker Dave Larsen of Clinton Iowa. Each of Dave's calls are hand cut, turned, drilled and shaped by Dave. No 2 calls will ever be identical in shape nor sound.
Each call body is approximately 4” long and the insert protrudes another 2”. This is not a small call but they are not bulky. Each call starts from a 2”x2” block of wood and the end result is as seen in the photo on this auction. Dave Uses all kinds of woods in call making from walnut to zebra wood and stock s many different spalts and burl blanks.
The calls are a GRUNT style single reed. They are not competition calls and they WILL not scream cause when you’re hunting you don’t need that kind of call. On the midrange to low they are excellent feed chuckles are great. These calls do tolerate allot of air to over blow them. Closing off then end piece is not needed just cup the end but let the airflow thru.
